My Story
If you told me at the beginning of 2020, that before the end of the year I would be fully self-employed, I would have thought you were nuts. Yet here I am, happier and more financially secure than ever!

Let’s rewind for a minute.
I’ve never known what I wanted to be when I grew up. I started University twice and both times dropped out because I had zero motivation to stick with it. I would find a job locally to put food on the table and a roof over our heads, but that was about it. Generally we were scraping by. I was a newly married, mother of two young children in her mid-thirties, on maternity leave with absolutely no direction.
So I opened a home daycare…
You see my last stint of school I thought I wanted to be a teacher, and since I was home with my own kids I thought it would be a brilliant idea to offer childcare, this way I could ‘live the dream’ and be home with my kids. This is where I learned that while I could do it, that it was long hours, terrible pay and my home was taking a beating. Not to mention how lonely I was being alone with toddlers all day.
I arranged play dates just to get out of the house and meet new friends. This is where I was first introduced to Scentsy. One of these new friends invited me to her Scentsy party. I had absolutely no idea what it was, but thought a night out with the girls? – I’m in!
Little did I know, that night out with the girls would forever change my life.
It didn’t take long before I was using more and more of their products. My kids loved their buddy line, my husband loved the washer whiffs, even our cars had scent circles. Enough was enough. It only made financial ‘scents’ (see what I did there) to sign up. I mean free and half-priced times AND get paid back on them… kinda seemed like an obvious choice.
So I took a chance on myself.
I was scared. I knew yes you ‘could’ earn trips and make an income, but I wasn’t sure I had what it takes.
I worked hard to hit my Shooting Star and Scentsational Start Awards shortly after joining. The tools to be successful were right at my fingers tips, I just had to use them.
I got to decide how much time I had to invest in my business. Working my business around my day job, daughter’s dance schedule, son’s Taekwondo lessons and every other obligation in between has been the biggest blessing.
My customers have become my friends, and many of them my teammates. I am now a Star Director to team Sparkling Visions with over 200 amazing individuals on it, all with their own success stories. We have such an incredible community that lifts each other up every single day.
Let’s not forget about those trips I thought were impossible to earn… My most recent one being an upcoming all-expense paid vacation to Walt Disney World in June 2021!

When 2020 came crashing down upon us, my husband and I both lost our day jobs. You see up until this point, I wasn’t working my Scentsy business full time. Remember I got to choose how much or how little I worked. It covered competitive dance fees and I was earning FREE trips. This alone surpassed any initial goals of mine.
The world was falling apart, families were losing jobs, loved ones and homes. But then something unexpected happened. The team lifted each other up and kept each other moving forward. Here we were, providing love, support and a chance to pick up the pieces financially. We grabbed the reins and ran with it!
I can officially say that I’m 100% self employed and more financially secure than ever before.
Scentsy had a record breaking year in 2020, and 2021 is even a better!!!
